Our cottage license

In Rhode Island, a cottage food license allows you to legally prepare and sell certain homemade foods from your home kitchen. It covers shelf-stable baked goods but not items that require refrigeration.

To become licensed by the state, you must apply through the Rhode Island Department of Health, full details are available on the Rhode Island Cottage Foods page. Sales are limited to direct-to-consumer, meaning we get to share our baked goods directly with our local community. Wholesale to stores or restaurants is not permitted under this license.

At Doughpamine, we are proud to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health. Our cottage food license allows us to share our homemade, small-batch breads and bagels safely with our community.
